About Coach Rene Leon Jr.
Rene Leon Jr. is a Belle Glade–based baseball coach and the owner of Leon Elite Baseball, a private training program serving youth, high school, and college athletes throughout Palm Beach County and South Florida. With 10+ years on the dugout and field, he combines the perspective of a former college player with the daily reality of running a varsity program.
Coach Leon is also the varsity head baseball coach at Glades Day School, where he is now in his fifth season leading the Gators (2025–26). His program competes in Rural District 8, and his coaching philosophy centers on fundamentals, mental discipline, and the work ethic that separates good high-school players from college-ready ones.
The Leon Elite Baseball mission is straightforward: develop players who are technically sound, mentally tough, and ready to compete at the next level, whatever that level looks like for them.

Playing Career
From the Diamond to the Dugout
Before he was Coach Leon, he was a college baseball player. Rene Leon Jr. competed at Morris College, then continued his career at Keiser University (formerly Northwood University), where he earned his B.S. Sports Management.
That player-first background shapes how he coaches today. He teaches the game from the inside out: what to look for, what to feel, and what to fix in a swing or a glove path that the player can actually understand and repeat.

A Baseball Family
Three Generations on the Field
Baseball is the language the Leons speak. Head coach at Glades Central in 2024. The season featured a father-vs-son matchup against Leon Jr.'s Glades Day team.
Today, his brother Eric Leon serves as an assistant on his Glades Day staff, making it three generations of Leons working in and around the same Florida high-school baseball scene that shaped them.
That's the energy Coach Leon brings to every Leon Elite Baseball session: family standards, tough love, and the conviction that the right coaching at the right time can change a player's career.
